Mount Valley Public School (MVPS) App · Complete guide for Administrators, Parents, Teachers and Drivers
Welcome to MVPS. This guide explains how to sign in and how to use every feature in the app for each of the four roles. If you need help, our contact details are at the bottom of this page.
The MVPS app is used by the school's administrators, teachers, registered parents and bus drivers. You cannot self-register — your username and a temporary password are issued by the school.
Signing in for the first time
Open the app and enter the username and temporary password the school gave you. The username is case-sensitive, so type it exactly as issued.
On your first sign-in you'll be asked to set your own secure password. After that, you'll use your new password every time.
Once signed in, the app opens to the home screen for your role and remembers you, so you won't need to log in each time.
Switching accounts / signing out
Use the logout option in the menu to sign out. To use a different role, sign out and sign in with that account's username and password.

Driver Guide
The driver login is for the school's bus drivers. It shows only your assigned trips and the tools to run them safely.
Today's Trips — Your dashboard lists the routes and trips assigned to you for the day (morning pickup and afternoon drop). The list updates automatically if the office changes your route or vehicle — pull down to refresh at any time.
Starting a trip — Tap Start on a trip to begin. The first time, allow the location permission so the bus can be tracked during the trip.
Live location sharing — While a trip is active, the app shares the bus's live location with the school and parents so they can follow it on a map in real time. Location is shared only while the trip is running — an ongoing notification stays visible — and stops the moment you end the trip.
Stop-by-stop route — The active-trip screen shows your next stop, how far along the route you are, and how many students are expected at each stop.
Marking boarding — At each stop, open Mark Boarding and tap each student who has boarded. A running count shows how many of the total have boarded, then you continue to the next stop.
Reaching school — At the end of the route, mark the bus as reached school to complete the trip and stop location sharing.
SOS — The SOS button instantly alerts the school office if you need assistance — it works whether or not a trip is active.
Notifications, Permissions & Security
Notifications — The app sends push notifications for announcements, fee reminders, results and transport alerts. If you're not receiving them, enable notifications for MVPS in your device Settings.
Camera & Photos — Requested only when you choose to take or upload a picture or attachment (for example, a profile photo).
Location — Used only by the bus-tracking feature to show the school bus on a live map. The app does not track your personal location in the background.
Security — Every account is protected by its own password, and all data travels encrypted over HTTPS. You see only what your role allows.
Changing your password — You can update your password from your profile/settings at any time.
Troubleshooting / FAQ
I can't sign in. Check that your username is typed exactly as issued (it's case-sensitive) and that you're using your current password. If the keyboard capitalises the first letter, switch it to lowercase.
I forgot my password. Ask your school administrator to reset it; you'll receive a new temporary password and set your own on the next sign-in.
I'm not getting notifications. Open device Settings → Notifications → MVPS and make sure they're allowed.
The app won't load data. Check your internet connection and try again.
I can't see a feature. Available features depend on your role (administrator, teacher, parent or driver).
